Tour de France 2025
Place au 112e Tour de France.
La Grande Boucle s’élance. Ce samedi 5 juillet, depuis Lille, la plus grande course cycliste du monde va s’élancer pour trois semaines de folie. Mais depuis 40 ans, il n’y pas eu de Français sur le haut du podium. Difficile à imaginer en effet, tant les coureurs français étaient dominateurs jusqu’ici sur les routes du Tour. Sur 72 éditions entre 1903 et 1985, les tricolores se sont imposés à 36 reprises, soit exactement une sur deux. Un nombre de succès qui continue de placer la France en tête des nations !
Si cette lose chronique agace une partie du public français en mal de vainqueur, elle ne l’a pas fait éteindre la passion française pour « son » Tour. Après Copenhague, Bilbao et Florence, le Tour de France est de retour dans l’hexagone pour son départ en 2025, avec une boucle lilloise de 185 km riche en contrastes.
The 112th Tour de France 2025 will kick off July 5 with a 185-kilometer loop around Lille, France, marking the first time since 2021 the 21-stage race has started in France. The 2022, 2023 and 2024 races began in Denmark, Spain and Italy, respectively. There hasn’t been a Frenchman at the top of the podium for 40 years. And yet France still remains atop the leader board for the number of wins since the race began. French riders were so dominant up until 1985. Will this year be different ?
The 112th Tour is 100% French and will finish in Paris on Sunday 27th July.
Here’s the Tour in numbers: 3338.8km, 184 riders, 21 stages including 7 flat, 6 hilly, 6 mountain stages with 5 mountain finishes, 2 time trials, and 2 rest days. The Col de la Loze is the highest point at 2304m. The TV coverage is always excellent with great scenery, commentary, and racing. I suspect many of you faithful will be in need of some rest days at the end of the Tour as well.
