Everyone knows about the “rebirth” of Notre Dame de Paris after the fire in 2019. However, this rebirth was the second for the cathedral. The architect, Eugène Emmanuel Viollet-le-Duc, restored Notre-Dame in the 19th century. It had been damaged during the French Revolution and demolition had even been suggested.
