The 2027 Marathon de Paris is the 50th edition of the event and will be held on Sunday 4th April 2027.

In yesterday’s Sunday newspaper, I saw the Paris Marathon mentioned.  The article said that there is no ballot for this marathon. However, the information is incorrect.
There definitely is a ballot.

This year, runners MUST register for the lottery/draw for a chance to take part in the event.
Registration is free.

BUT, BIG BUT,  I saw this very late and registration closes in a couple of days

Registration for the lottery/draw is only open until Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at 11:59 PM (French time).
Which means 10.59AM on Thursday 1^st October NZ time.

You can register as an individual, or as a team of 2 to 6 runners. It only takes one team member to be selected for the entire team to get its bib.

The results of the draw will be notified on October 1^st (France).
Then if you are one of the lucky ones,
–  you will have 72 hours to finalize your registration and pay for your entry.
The race entry fee is €169.
–  you will note the date in your diary, 4^th April 2027, then get training.

Start with the legs of course, but it could be handy to train your brain into French mode as well, n’est-ce pas ?

Le Marathon de Paris 2027 aura lieu le dimanche 4 avril 2027.

Cette édition sera particulière puisqu’il s’agira de la 50e édition du Marathon de Paris. La course conservera sa distance officielle de 42,195 km.

Le système d’inscription change pour l’édition 2027. Pour le grand public, il faut d’abord participer à un tirage au sort. Une inscription au tirage au sort en équipe de 2 à 6 personnes est proposée aussi.

À noter : participer au tirage au sort ne garantit pas l’obtention d’un dossard.

Les résultats seront communiqués à partir du 1er octobre 2026.

Les coureurs sélectionnés disposeront ensuite de 72 heures pour confirmer leur inscription et payer leur dossard.

Le tarif du dossard grand public pour le Marathon de Paris 2027 est fixé à 169 € TTC.
Le paiement n’intervient qu’après le tirage au sort, si vous êtes sélectionné et décidez de confirmer votre participation.

Le Marathon de Paris 2027 sera la 50e édition de l’épreuve.
