Padam est le titre d’une chanson d’Edith Piaf également.

Est-ce que Piaf a servi d’inspiration ?
J’ai cherché des commentaires sur le sujet – il ne semblerait que non.

French icon Édith Piaf titled one of her own songs ‘Padam Padam’ back in 1951. That song is about how music can evoke memories and comes in the form of a waltz. ‘Padam’ serves as onomatopoeia for the beat of the waltz and is quite different from the club-like beats of Minogue’s own song. In Piaf’s version the words repeat over and over again, and many have taken it to be the sound of a broken heart unable to get over these past memories.

Piaf sings how music can bring back memories of a former lover, whereas Minogue’s song is about a new person in her life.

Padam, Padam concentre, en effet, tout ce que l’on aime de cette icône : une pop électro aux rythmes hyper efficaces et des paroles sensuelles !

“Padam, padam, je l’entends et je sais / Padam, Padam, Je sais que tu m’emmèneras à la maison / Padam, pour me connaître de plus près...” On n’aurait pas dit mieux en rencontrant ce beau gosse samedi soir…
