SYNOPSIS Amélie (2001) (Le Fabuleux Destin d’Amélie Poulain)

At a tiny Parisian café, the adorable yet painfully shy Amélie accidentally discovers a gift for helping others. Soon Amelie is spending her days as a matchmaker, guardian angel, and all-around do-gooder. But when she bumps into a handsome stranger, will she find the courage to become the star of her very own love story?

Step into the whimsical world of Amélie, a beloved French classic filled with charm, romance, humour and a little bit of Parisian magic.  A film that will make you fall in love with French cinema — and perhaps a little bit with Amélie.

It is the 25^th anniversary of this delightfully quirky film.  If you have never seen this great movie, do come.  If you have already seen it, come and see it again.   The film is in French but sub-titled in English.

Amélie, une jeune serveuse dans un bar de Montmartre, passe son temps à observer les gens et à laisser son imagination divaguer.  Elle s’est fixé un but : faire le bien de ceux qui l’entourent.
